A copyright notice is the well known ©-sign that can be added to the work to mention that you want to claim copyright on it.
Permission
If the author gives permission for the use of the copyrighted work, in order to avoid any ambiguities or disputes, it is important to record the permission in writing as specifically as possible. A license agreement is often concluded for this purpose. This license agreement specifies the scope and restrictions of the use of the copyrighted work.
Infringement of copyright
In case of copyright infringement, the work of an author has been used without his or her permission and none of the exceptions laid down by law apply. If as a result of this, damage has been caused to the author (or the copyright holder), legal action can be taken. The author (or the copyright holder) may take legal action to prohibit further sale and distribution of the work or, for example, claim damages for this. In the event of deliberate infringement of another person's copyright, this may even lead to criminal prosecution, with a fine of up to EUR 83,000.00 or imprisonment for up to 4 years.
